IPS and PS
The Pump station is located along Lee industrial Road, just east of the South Cobb WRF.
Pump Station Construction Site
Construction of the IPS shaft was performed by lowering the existing ground surface 15 feet to clear the airplanes in the Charlie Brown Airport's flight path. Holes were augered into the ground to a depth where they could not be augered any more. These holes were then filled with concrete. Every fifth hole has a steel pile in it for greater strength.

When all of these piles were installed, it looked like Stonehenge

The dirt inside the secant piles was then excavated, and steel ring beams were installed.

Note that when the second ring was in place, the shaft was down into rock that required drilling and blasting on one fourth of the shaft. The big steel thing on the shaft bottom is a blast mat to reduce noise and potential flyrock.

Shotcrete and bolts are used to support the shaft in the rock from here on down.

And yes, those are men working on the shaft bottom in the lime yellow jackets.
