Blasting Notices

The Contractor began excavation for the Sweetwater Connector Tunnel the afternoon of 01-28-10. The Contractor anticipates blasting up to twice a day on weekdays going forward.

The Contractor is excavating for the Sweetwater Connector tunnel, which will connect the Sweetwater construction shaft with the Sweetwater Intake structure, which will be located behind the old BP station on the corner of Maxham and Old Alabama. This tunnel is approximately 9 feet wide, and about 12 feet tall.

Blasting of this smaller diameter tunnel to connect the Sweetwater construction shaft to the Sweetwater Intake is scheduled to complete the end of June, 2010.
